The Pros and Cons of IPL Hair Removal

Facial and body hair is not only inconvenient but it can also be humiliating for some. To manage this problem, there are already a number of methods to do this, and this includes waxing, plucking, shaving, threading and electrolysis. But one of the methods to also remove unwanted hairs effectively is IPL (Intense Pulse Light).

WHAT IS IPL?

The laser used produces certain light beams which eventually create long term damage to the hair follicles. Using a hand piece device, filtered light is delivered into the skin which specifically targets dark or pigmented material in its way, e.g. hair. The thermal damage to the cells and connective tissues of the hair prevents any hair growth to reoccur in the future, while sparing nearby skin and tissues.

BENEFITS OF IPL HAIR REMOVAL

This is one of the latest technologies in hair removal, and it makes the work much faster and less painful. This is considered to be the most preferred hair reduction or removal option.

Back in the day IPL is only recommended for individuals with light skin and dark hair. But with the advancements in technology today it can manage hair problems for people of any complexion and hair color, with white hairs being the only exception.

Another reason why it is considered to be a versatile technique is because it can be used on both male and females.

IPL is also earning nods because it is less painful compared to other hair removal methods. Today’s equipment provides better comfort to the patient because it is adjusted with a self-cooling head. Instead of the sensation of having hot elastic bands being repeatedly snapped on your skin, you can now only feel a warm tingling sensation.

This procedure is also much preferred in the market because of the much lower cost of the entire process. It is much cheaper compared to standard hair removal techniques while it also covers a large amount of skin area within a short period of time. It can finish large areas such as the back, arms and the legs at a much faster rate.

If used on the face, IPL will allow you to apply some makeup right after the procedure. It also gives you the freedom to immediately enjoy the outdoors while using sunscreen of course.

IPL is also known widely for creating long term results that are thoroughly impressive.

DISADVANTAGES OF IPL HAIR REMOVAL

One of the drawbacks of this procedure is that it requires a couple of sessions for the best results.
If a salon uses the older type of machines, a certain degree of pain and discomfort may be felt. Also this type of machines will only be limited to light color skinned individuals.

Some also contend that although many say that the hair removal results lasts long, this technology has not been around long enough to guarantee whether the outcome will last for years.

Also with it being new in the market, not much are experienced enough to offer IPL hair removal services. So you have to make sure that you get yours done at a certified salon or aesthetist.

  2. That's why hair and beauty uniforms have been taking inspiration from medical wear for many years now, and by adding a few fashionable twists designers have created a look that is up to the task and looks the part too. 除毛
